The Gawler and Districts Community Services Forum will be holding an Expo tomorrow (Thursday 11th July) at the Gawler Civic Centre to showcase a range of services that are available to support the local community.

Forum Chair, Ms Rachel Abdy said the forum is a network of service providers who meet monthly to connect with each other, share information about the services they provide and learn from each other’s experiences in the community.

“Additionally, the guest speakers we have enable us to learn more about the needs of our community and how we can better serve them,” said Ms Abdy.

“We share a love for service, and we want to ensure that we are able to provide services that meets people’s individual needs and circumstances.”

“If you are wondering what supports exist in the community to support you or your family, visit the exhibitors at the Expo.”

“Irrespective of what stage of life you are in, there will be something for you at the Expo.”

“The Expo is a great way to meet with various organisations, face to face, in a casual setting, so feel free to just pop in.”

Local Member of Parliament, Mr Tony Piccolo who will have a stall at the Expo said it can be hard to know the range of services that exist to local families, and often it is a challenge to navigate the internet to access the information you need.

“The Expo will give people an opportunity to speak with a service provider, face to face, and discuss their individual needs,” said Mr Piccolo.

“Or you may wish to just pick a flyer or brochure and contact the service provider from the privacy of your own home.”

The library will be providing a range of kid’s activities during the school holidays, so parents and care givers can pop into the Expo while the children are participating in the various events provided by the Gawler Council.

The Expo will be held from 10 am to 12 Noon in the area opposite the entrance to the Gawler Public Library.
