Karbeethan Reserve is getting ready to cater for more local athletes with new changerooms being delivered on Thursday.

The new facility, set to be fitted out within the next few months, will have five new changerooms, a laundry, storage room and trainer room, totalling of 13 showers, 9 toilets and 10 sinks.

Member for Light, Tony Piccolo MP, is pleased the $900,000 State Government Election Commitment Grant awarded to Town of Gawler for this project with Gawler Eagles FC is set to be serving our sporting community in the coming months.

“Once the fit-out of this facility is complete, the changerooms will be of great benefit for the three current sporting precinct clubs, but also provide an appropriate change space for all genders,” said Mr Piccolo.

“With the state-of-the-art facilities at Karbeethan Reserve, those considering joining one of the clubs will now feel more comfortable participating given the resources and privacy available to them.”

Chairperson of Karbeethan Sporting Association Peter Broelman said all the clubs are excited to welcome new changerooms.

“These facilities enable the growing number of both male and female teams to proudly represent the greater Gawler community,” said Mr Broelman.

“We thank Tony Piccolo MP and the state Labor government for its generous contribution, and the Town of Gawler for leading the charge to deliver a first-rate facility.

“We were also very honoured to design the changerooms in collaboration with Ausco and we look forward to the 2025 season and beyond.”
